What to do

What to do when one the very best people in the world come to visit for the weekend:

You jump for joy.

You squeeze and kiss on smiling babies.

You stop to roll around in the grass.
You invite others to come over and roll around in the grass.
You might take off all your clothes.

You might get super awesome toys.

You smile, like, all day.

You soak up the sun.

You get close to ones you love.

You look pretty and laugh a lot.

You enjoy a frosty beverage with a handsome man.

And laugh some more.

And give big hugs.

And then you might tear up when you kiss babies goodbye and you wave at the airport... but you most definitely look forward to meeting again.

Vitamin D drops

Forgive me, as I totally meant to write about this months ago when it was really on my mind! Some pediatricians advocate giving exclusively breastfed babies Vitamin D supplements. There is existing research that Vitamin D is the only thing missing from breastmilk.

So... if you're sort of crunchy granola, really into breastfeeding, planning on making baby food, using some organic baby toys/clothes/accessories... If you like the idea of keeping chemical and unnecessary additives out of your growing baby... then you are kind of like me and you might care about this:

Also: smells, is brown, and stains.

If the ingredients alone aren't enough to make you skip over Enfamil for Carlson for Kids, then consider the price tag. On drugstore.com 50mL of D-Vi-Sol is $9.99 (that is 50 servings of the recommended daily dose). Carlson for Kids Vitamin D drops are $15.99 for 10mL (which is 365 servings of the recommended daily dose - an entire year's worth - AND the serving size is only one drop which is a LOT easier to get into an infant than an entire 1ml dropper).

Carlson for Kids: Winning.

I love my cousins

We had a big fat weekend, friends. Bryan retrieved our bikes from the shop which are now tuned up and ready to ride. He put together our Burley Bee bike trailer that we got for Christmas from my parents now that Tucker is almost big enough/strong enough to ride. Saturday we picked up some cupcakes from Copper Cupcake. Much to Sophie's delight, the special of the day was a Strawberry Cupcake. Coincidentally her favorite tv show is "Strawberry Shortcake," which she sweetly refers to as "Strawberry Cupcake." She giggled with delight... then only ate the frosting (I'll let you guess who finished the rest).

Sophie had a cousin-filled weekend. As she was coming off her sugar high last night, drifting to sleep she said, "I love my cousins."

Mister is getting better at this sitting stuff.

Sister is never far.

Sophie wore this all afternoon until she demanded we take
her clothes off for swimming in the baby pool.

The girls, Lila, Ruby, Kenzie and Sophie were so sweet to baby Tucker.

Big boy McClain.

Sophie adores Preston.
She says "Preston likes to play basketball and give me hugs."

Overexposed, granted, but that smile! Melt.

You grab mine, I'll grab yours!

Big girl Kaelin.

Cutie.

She is so brave. Love.

Hannah is such a cheeser, I love taking her pictures!

Monkey-ing around.

The girls just love some Tucker!

Thought this was a "seedless" watermelon? Thought wrong.

Hula girl. With watermelon.
Our new ride.

Summa summa time

I do believe it's summer time. And how could I resist some pictures of my happy girl who was up past her bedtime in her Ikat dress with "sparkly buttons?" Momma is feeling whole again after my first trip to the gym in over a year - only thanks to a generous gift from my in-laws. The kids survived the gym, too. We are really glad to have some supervised fun (and mommy time) again!

These are the moments

I'm kind of obsessed with this picture. And I'm kind of obsessed with holding my baby boy whenever he wants me to right now. Because he won't be small forever. And he won't want his mama forever. These sweet, intimate moments are fleeting. And damn am I glad hubby got an iPhone and Instagram.
